The Vintage Crawl is an event from October 3rd – 31st that supports the non-profit YWCA in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. The crawl features 14 women-owned vintage stores and a “Vintage Fall Crawl Passport” available to purchase online to support YWCA. Check out the 14 vintage stores and their locations!

Get your passport stamped at each shop for a chance to win a $25 gift card from every store ($350 value)! The Vintage Fall Crawl Passport can be purchased for $10 and you will also receive a one-time, 10% discount at all 14 women-owned vintage shops in the Twin Cities.

All passport proceeds will go to the YWCA of Saint Paul + Minneapolis. YWCA’s mission is to “eliminate racism and empower women”. They do so much more, so check them out for more information on their mission.

Keep reading to explore two of the shops featured in the Crawl. Fun fact, for those interested in visiting the Vintage Crawl shops, three of the shops: The Golden Pearl, Moth Oddities, and Olio Vintage are all clustered closely in North East Minneapolis. Hit all three shops in one afternoon!

One of the shops featured in the Vintage Crawl is “The Golden Pearl”. The shop is vintage and elegant from head to toe. What is beautiful about this shop is its sustainability in the way it is run. They buy previously owned vintage clothing pieces strictly from local Minnesota residents. They aim for pieces in good condition, while still taking pieces with minor flaws to bring fresh life into them. How? Sara, an employee at The Golden Pearl said, “Something that sets us apart is we put a lot of time and effort into bringing every piece into the store in great condition, so everything is ready to wear.” She said, “Every employee has an education or background in costume design and clothing design”, which makes this all possible! All clothing pieces must be from the 1990s or older, you will find no home goods or furniture, strictly clothing, jewelry, and accessories. The Golden Pearl has loved the Vintage Crawl experience, Sara said, “Being a part of the crawl is fun because you meet many people who are first-timers and didn’t know we even existed.”

The next shop, Moth Oddities, felt the same way! They love being a part of The Vintage Crawl! This is another shop on The Vintage Crawl that is sustainably creating a shopping experience full of unique, vintage items. According to their website, “Our collection consists of vintage clothing, accessories & home goods that we hand-pick all over the USA via cross country road trips in our 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer named Eleanor. We also receive monthly shipments of specialty vintage pieces from our buyer in Northern Italy”. They also highlight products by local and independent makers. They only just started their shop in North East Minneapolis in 2021. Check out their Instagram!

Both of these shops are completely different yet both offer an incredible experience from the aesthetics of the shop, to the uniqueness of the clothing and items, to the ethical sustainability of them both. Grab some friends, do The Vintage Crawl, and explore these shops! While there, take a picture and tag us so we can reshare your experience.
