Why Voting Matters

November 4, 2022

In the wake of those who have fought, bled, and died for all in America to have the right to vote, may we be compelled to participate. Voting encompasses understanding that those we vote for are representatives we hope will put policies into place to bring about the flourishing of our society. The policies these politicians put into place are not arbitrary because they affect the lives of the people around us, that as Christians, we know have been created in the image of God. These politicians and public officials have their finger on the pulse of many things in life that we hold dear, so voting matters.

“Politics matter, because policies matter, because people matter”- Allie Beth Stuckey (Christian podcaster on theology and culture)

As Christians we have the responsibility to search the scriptures, dig deep into the truth of God’s word, and understand what brings about the thriving of a nation. We seek to vote for politicians and policies that will bring about true life and prosperity for all, will protect the most vulnerable, and fight for the freedom of the people of our great nation. Our democratic republic, also known as a constitutional democracy, requires Christians who know the Word of God to show up at the polls and help change the tide of our nation to what is good, right, and true.

Remember “We the people” invites your action and passion, not your apathy

In the aftermath of whatever the results of the elections may be, we can trust in the Maker of heaven and of earth, who holds the whole world in His hand. He walks with His people, He is the light of the nations, and Christ died so that we could be reconciled to God. We do not have to fear the power of man, but rather walk in step with the Spirit and trust that God will light our way. May our hope be in God, and God alone.

“In God, whose word I praise,

in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.

What can flesh do to me?” -Psalm 56:4

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Roman 15:13

Our nation needs your voice through the power of your vote.
