August 24, 2022

Beginning in late November of 2021, classes from North Central’s College of Arts and Sciences allied together and created a lineup of faculty interviews. Three comm arts classes including Public Relations, Intro to Digital Media, and Video Production 2 gathered to direct and film faculty interviews. These interviews are now used for promotional purposes, website content, and social media.

The following interview was conducted with Dr. Desirée Libengood, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Associate Vice President of Academics. For over 12 years, Dr. Libengood has helped students develop critical thinking and communication skills through her English classes. Since 2010, Dr. Libengood has served as Assistant English Professor at North Central. In 2018, Dr. Libengood became the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Libengood’s passion for helping students grow to their full potential is evident in how she guides the College of Arts and Sciences. North Central students look up to Libengood’s model of strong, compassionate leadership. When asked about North Central students in an interview, Libengood said, “Here at North Central, I really believe that we have the best students in the world. They are ready to meet challenges, they are excited to learn. When we give them projects, they take them on head-on.”
