The Student Success Center is holding events to help students through the last week of the semester
Friday the 6th kicks off the start of Momentum Week as well as Finals period with early morning prayer at 6:30 in the Anderson Chapel. With so many students the Student Services has many avenues of help for them. This last week during finals, students can reap the benefits that Momentum week will have available.
Momentum is a North Central wide event meant to aid students who are taking finals. Every department takes part with certain events such as animal therapy to late night breakfast at midnight. For the animal therapy there will be around 10 bunnies on campus on Thursday the 12th in the CLC Lobby form 4:30 to 6:00. Student Success Center has several banners showcasing when the various events will be held on the outside wall.
While offering Academic Support, Career Services, Therapeutic Services, and Accessibility Services the Student Success Center is the go-to place for educational support. From 9 a.m. to around 4:30 p.m. students can expect help and guidance depending on their needs. For new students the center is a good place to get tips on writing, sessions with tutors, and even other miscellaneous skills that encompass time management. For Momentum week they will be transitioning a room into the calming room in CLC 235 with various tasks that will help destress students.
“I would tell myself that whatever I did not know by 2 am in the morning, I would not know tomorrow,” said Director of Student Success Stacy Sikorski.
Director Sikorski had four tips for students stressing during the finals; sleep, drink water, eat healthy and exercise.
Student Success also offers counselling. For Momentum Week they have an open door policy where students can come without an appointment and meet with a counselor from Wednesday to Friday 9 a.m to 3:30 p.m..
Students should stop by the Student Success Center to get the schedule for Momentum week.
