A Promising Basketball season starts for the Rams
By Zachary Lemmon
The 2018/2019 men’s basketball season started for North Central Nov. 8. After the season road opener win against Moody Bible Institute, the team paves the way to a hopefully successful season. “We have a lot of heavy hitting competition this year in schools like Northwestern and defending champions Bethany University,” Senior Jared High said, “But we’ve added more depth to our team to be contenders.” Freshman Micah Filer and freshman Allen Ardley Jr are high expectation role players coming into the season. “After injuries in the preseason, we believe these guys will step up big for us in filling these positions,” Jared High said.
Last season, the NCU Rams held a 6-21 record. Coming off of a losing record, the Rams coaching staff is hoping to improve this season into a winning one. “Every player is a puzzle piece that will fit into this season’s success,” Men’s Basketball Coach Jon High said. “With new players and player injuries, we’re trying to figure out exactly what that puzzle is. With these next few games, we’re going to see what’s working and utilize it for this season.”
With the season well on its way, students can continue their support by getting RAMbunctious at the next home game on Dec 15th at 4:45PM.
