History made at the national tournament
The North Central men’s soccer team reached a new level of success this season. After finishing the regular season with a 15-7-1 record, they placed second at the NCCAA Division II national tournament.
The tournament was held in Kissimmee, Florida during the week of November 14. After beating the Moody Bible Institute Archers in the regional finals game 2-1, the team was ecstatic about making history at the national tournament.
The Rams were the fourth seed, beating both the number one seed Trinity Baptist Eagles and Manhattan Christian Thunder with a 2-1 score. The championship game against second seed Bob Jones University was uncertain.
“Our strategy was to go in and play our game,” team chaplain Nick Walker said in an email.
The Rams lost to Bob Jones 2-0 in the final game, but they did not let that ruin their experience at the national tournament.
“The overall experience at nationals was unmatched,” senior captain Ryan Windauer said, emphasizing the memorable trip.
The men’s soccer team made history in Florida and proudly represented the school and Christ through it all.
