As Election Day approaches, I have thought a lot about who to vote for. I’ve followed the candidates to see what they have to say, and I’ve come to the conclusion that Donald Trump should be the next president of the United States.

Over the last year, Trump has shown that he is dedicated to the presidential role. Trump beat out every career politician in the primaries and has proven that he really does want to help America become great again. Trump is a world-famous businessman. He has dealt with more world trade in his business career than Hillary Clinton has in her entire political career. He owns hotels in Europe, Asia, Central America, South America and here in the United States.

Donald Trump has been working with foreign trade and economics nearly his whole life. He knows negotiations and is versed in cross-cultural situations. He is simply more qualified than Clinton in economics.

Hillary Clinton, in her time as secretary of state, completely failed. She allowed Benghazi to happen. There were warnings months in advance about what was happening in Libya, yet she did nothing about them. If Clinton can’t take care of four Americans abroad who served their country, she most definitely is not qualified to be the president over 318 million Americans.

Trump, on the other hand, has created a 10-point plan to provide for veterans. According to his website, he wants to “ensure our veterans get the care they need wherever and whenever they need it.”

Not only does Trump know economics and how to run a business, so does his vice president — Gov. Mike Pence. Starting when Pence was elected in 2012, the economy of Indiana has risen along with the United States economy according to CNBC. Pence was able to keep the state of Indiana at a healthy debt load, which now is the 11th best in the nation, according to the Indianapolis Star newspaper. Trump clearly has a strong conservative as his running mate.

Over the last eight years, the Obama administration has weakened and hurt our country with programs like Obamacare. Obama has taken the majority of American presence from Iraq, and now the Middle East is overflowing with terrorism. If the people of America elect Clinton, America will continue to hurt. We need Donald Trump to be president and turn the country around: to heal what has been broken and to protect what liberties others attempt to take away (our gun rights).

Come November, I am voting for Donald Trump because I believe in a better America. I believe America can be great again.
