Remainder of men’s tennis season canceled

Due to a lack of involvement in the men’s tennis program, the remaining nine matches of the season have been canceled.

Eight men were signed up to play at the beginning of the season, but only sophomores Danny Williams, Noah Ramsby and Luke Bjur competed in a meet.

“We couldn’t get enough guys to sign up after the season has started,” Williams said. “They didn’t want to keep canceling matches.”

The Rams were able to compete in their first meet of the season against Northwestern, a 9-0 loss. The team was forced to postpone the next two meets against St. Scholastica and St. Mary’s, in addition to forfeiting the next four meets before the decision was made to cancel the remainder of the season.

Rams fans will still have to chance to cheer on the women’s tennis team as they continue to progress through their season. Their next match is March 25 against St. Mary’s at Lifetime Fitness in Fridley, Minn. The reminder of the women’s tennis schedule can be found on the Rams website.
