Thoughts on “Avatar”
The movie “Avatar” has an interesting story line. The white men find a resource they want but the locals will not cooperate. A skilled, specially qualified officer consequently finds himself at the mercy of the hostile locals. Over time, the locals and the officer become family instead of enemies and the officer realizes where his allegiance must lie. The white man attacks but is thwarted by the military expertise of the original officer, who is now fighting for the locals. Some readers may have realized by now that I am writing about “Pocahontas”—and “Avatar”. Both movies have much more in common than that.
